Hello and thank you for stopping by. My name is Karla Horton and I am a certified Kerala Ayurveda Academy Ayurvedic Practitioner and RYT500 Yoga Instructor. Learn more about me here.
Ayurveda seeks to create and maintain health, happiness and longevity within the individual. It starts by defining each person's prakturi (or inborn body constitution) and then identifying any existing imbalances. A unique individual plan is then created (daily and periodic regimens) to bring balance through diet, exercise, herbal therapies, yoga, meditation and more.
An ancient Ayurvedic proverb says it best, “Without proper diet, medicine is of no use. With proper diet, medicine is of no need.” -
An Ayurvedic diet involves eating and/or restricting certain foods based on your dosha, or unique body type, along with specific preparation and consumption protocols. .
